Skirting Board styles have changed over the years. In years gone by Skirting Boards were generally Higher, and more often than not, made up in 2 or 3 pieces. Since the early nineties a 150mm is normally the standard.

Skirting Board Materials

MDF is pabably now the most popular Skirting Board on the market. This is mainly due to the fact that MDF is so easy to work with, compared to say Oak or Walnut. MDF Skirting Boards is very big in the Home Improvement/DIY sector.
